Potion
A potion[1] is a type of enchanted device that exists in the 4:th edition of Ars Magica. It is created in the laboratory and takes the form of a potion, powder or other similar form that can be applied to an object or person. Potions have only one magical effect and are limited in that each potion contains a certain amount of doses, each of which are single-use only. The potion can only affect the object it is applied to, never anything else. Potions can't be enchanted with ritual-type spells as these are too powerful for the potion to contain. The advantage to using potions is that they are easy to create and require no vis. One can, however, expend vis when creating the potion in order to increase its effectiveness.
Potions were later reworked into charged items for the 5:th edition of Ars Magica.
