Cantation
A cantation is a low-level (level 3-5) spell commonly learned by Hermetic apprentices.[1] The name comes from the Latin word cantamen, which is Hermetic slang for "little spell."[1]
Because cantations are low-level spells, it is easy for an apprentice to learn several of them in a season, using the usual rules for learning spells from a teacher.[2]
