One of the legendary artifacts of the Order, the Robes of the Dusty Dawn are the symbol of office of the Primus of House Ex Miscellanea.
Description and Powers
The most complete description of the Robes of the Dusty Dawn is in Houses of Hermes: Societates.[1] The Robes are made of fine wool lavender-rose in color. They are "fabulous treasure" and are "said to protect [the wearer] against all natural threats and every kind of supernatural creature."[1]
Origin
According to Houses of Hermes: Societates, the Robes of the Dusty Dawn were possessed by the leader of the Columbae tradition before they joined the Order of Hermes, and passed to Pralix when the Columbae joined her side in the war against Dav'nalleous.[1]
A popular legend offers an alternate story, that the Robes were made by Verditius the Founder.[1]
The Robes in Past Editions
The Robes of the Dusty Dawn were described only briefly in past editions, and the description was somewhat different.
Third and Fourth Editions
Houses of Hermes mentions the robes briefly but does not describe their appearance or powers.[2][3]
Second Edition
When first introduced 1990 in Order of Hermes the "fabled" Robes were red silk and given to Pralix by Verditius himself when she left to fight Dav'nalleous[4].
