A lesser enchanted device[1] is a type of enchanted item created in a laboratory by a magus. It has the benefit of never running out of uses (unlike a charged item), although the device is usually limited to a certain amount of uses per day. Some lesser enchanted devices are designed to have a permanent effect, but as with all long-term magical effects, such enchantments usually lead to warping for the object that the magic works upon.

Properties of a Lesser Enchanted Device

Some properties of a lesser enchanted device are:

  • A lesser enchanted device costs vis to create.
  • Creation of a lesser enchanted device must be done in a single season.
  • A lesser enchanted device does not need to be opened for enchantment.
  • Only one magical effect can be instilled into the item.
