The Corruption of House Tytalus is a key event in the history of the Order, where many Tytalus magi (including fourth Prima of the House, Tasgillia), were found to be diabolists.[1] Within House Tytalus, it is known as the Betrayal.[2] It was exposed by Tasgillia's filia Kalliste when she brought evidence to the Quaesitores in 961 AD, opening the way for her to succeed Tasgillia as the fifth Prima and creating considerable ill will towards her in the House to this day.

In ArM4 the Corruption is briefly described in page 232. It is specified to have happened in the tenth century (and therefore after the Sundering of House Tremere) and noted to be a possible enabling factor of the Schism War of early eleventh century.
