Opinions and Commentary

This spell seems to ward against magical as well as mundane heat and fire damage. Similarly, wards against both magical and mundane weather phenomena (Auram), humans (Corpus), fire (Ignem), or dirt (Terram) seem possible. Yet wood (Herbam) and water (Aquam) spell guidelines only ward against their mundane forms. The troupe should decide how to deal with this conflict - higher level spells may be able to ward enchanted wood or water, but this would lessen the importance of the Parma Magica; or all Forms may be similarly restricted, but this would render this spell, and other canonical spells, obsolete. This spell provides a bonus to Soak instead of an all-or-nothing ward. Some troupes prefer to extend this principle to all Forms, changing wards to provide bonuses to Soak much like this spell does (Soak +5 at the base level, +5 per extra magnitude). Yair (talk) 02:07, 2 January 2014 (MST)
