Grand Tribunal is the name of the fan-organized Ars Magica gaming convention.

The 2024 Grand Tribunal UK convention will be held from August 16 to August 18, 2023 in Cheltenham, per the convention's Wiki. See the Wiki for further details.

There was formerly a US Grand Tribunal convention but it has not been held since 2013 and its wiki is no longer online.

History

Grand Tribunal was brought to life by Christian Jensen Romer, Ars Magica author and activist, in 2007 as a RPG-convention entirely dedicated to Ars Magica. It took place in Cheltenham, England. The event was quite a success, and attracted enthusiasts from all over (real) Europe, as well as two authors from the new world. CJ has written an article on his blog about how the event got started.

  • 2014 Grand Tribunal UK convention Grand Tribunal in 2014 was held in Cheltenham, England on August 8-10, 2014.
  • 2015 once again saw the convention in Cheltenham, UK. Grand Tribunal in 2015, organised by Christian Jensen Romer who rebrands it Grand Tribunal Europe to encourage international participation and reflect the reality of the conventions international character.
  • 2017 Grand Tribunal Europe will be in Cheltenham from August 11th to the 13th.
