Namespaces are used primarily by the Project: Redcap administrators and editors. Ordinary contributors generally do not need to worry about understanding or using them.
Namespaces are a feature of the MediaWiki software that groups pages into broad, functional categories. Namespaces are different from categories in that namespaces have less to do with the content of the page and more to do with what the page is for: whether it is a content page, a discussion page, a help page, etc.
Project: Redcap uses the following namespaces:
- Main
- The Main namespace is used for English content pages.
- Help
- The Help namespace is for user instructions and tutorials about using Project: Redcap.
- Project Redcap
- The Project Redcap namespace is used for administrative pages about the site itself -- policies, administrative pages, and the About page.
- User
- The User namespace is for user pages.
