A Major Hermetic Virtue, Mythic Blood represents a legendary ancestor. The core ArM5 book provides only the guidelines on how to represent it through play, but examples were furnished in further supplements.
References
- The Fifth Edition Core Rulebook page 47 presents the virtue itself. Typically the possessor of the Mythic Blood virtue does not suffer fatigue when when their casting total is less than 10 short of the required, is granted an Innate Power with an equivalent Hermetic level of 30 (including Penetration), a Minor Magical Focus, and a free Minor Personality Flaw.
- Houses of Hermes: Mystery Cults page 37 provides examples, including the lineage of Birna, a Wolf of Virtue, an Owl of Virtue, and descent from Legendary Creatures Griffin and Phoenix.
- Houses of Hermes: True Lineages page 143 provides another variant, the Zmey.
- GoF: Rhine Tribunal (p. 59) has the example of the Apromor, the destructive apprentice of Flambeau.
- The Lion and the Lily Normandy Tribunal sourcebook (where?) discusses theories over the source of Mythic Blood and controversies that arose from at least one of those theories. Page 8 discusses the legendary Sorcerer King Merovech, but while it has suggestions as to what virtues his mythic bloodline might provide, actual "Mythic Blood" virtue is not mentioned.
- TSE: Theban Tribunal (p120) has an inset on Mythic Blood - Gigantes.
- Faith and Flame page 122 shows the Mythic Blood of Balthazarine lineage.
- Cradle and the Crescent page 157 shows the Mythic Blood of Rostam.
- Ancient Magic page 104 in the Hyperborean Magic chapter presents two virtues named Hyperborean Descent, the Major Hermetic version being a variation of Mythic Blood.
- Magi of Hermes has two examples, page 15 Nymph of Hermes, and page 45 Valkyrie.
