Durenmar.de was a fan-created Web site for Ars Magica that was active from 21 August 1998[1], and went offline some time in late 2013 or early 2014. The site accepted fan-written articles about Ars Magica and functioned much like an online fanzine.

At the time of its last update, durenmar.de hosted 79 articles and linked to 155 Ars Magica pages elsewhere on the Web.[2] Several individuals who were, or would later become, Ars Magica authors wrote articles for Durenmar.de, including David Chart, Timothy Ferguson, and Mark Shirley, Jermiah Genest, and David Woods.[2]

Most material for Durenmar.de was written in 1998-2000[1], when Ars Magica Fourth Edition was current.

Durenmar Reconstruction

Durenmar.de became unreachable some time in the winter of 2013-2014. Project: Redcap is attempting to re-host as much material from Durenmar as possible. That requires getting permission from the authors of each article, since Durenmar articles carry a copyright notice.

If you wrote an article for Durenmar and would like your article re-hosted here, please contact us. You have the option for your article to be posted as an editable Wiki page, or locked to prevent editing (preserving your original work).

Durenmar Categories

Durenmar.de organized articles into several categories, each with Latin names.

conclave concili

In the council chamber you will find Archmagus Canis Maestus, who will be happy to show you his weighty Book of Rules, covering a large range of items from alchemy and apprentices through to warfare and witches.

exedra tironum

In the apprentice's lecture room you will find Alexander Scriptor. This magus of House Tytalus is a student - a student of geography, history, and the culture of mundanes. He is also a teacher - despite his overbearing ways. Visit him if you want to know more about such things as the calendar of the Romans and medieval holidays.

fabricaeque castra

Many find the workshops and barracks of the covenant to be of interest. Here, Dux Famulorum will show you to our battle simulators, and allow you to try out the famed InstaGrog machine.

sanctum Cogitabundae

Cogitabunda scholae Bonisagi resides here, a renowned expert on magics, both Hermetic and otherwise. In her sanctum, she can tell you her theories on the nature of the Gift, some peculiarities of House Bjornaer... Don't worry - she's waived the Sanctum Rights!

cenaculum convivae

Hasta Quate of House Merinita is currently regaling our other guests with the stories he has collected in the guest dining-room. Feel free to wander in and listen. Perhaps you might also chance upon some of the other characters to be found within these walls.

bibliotheca vetior

In the older of our two libraries our tireless Redcap Phyrges Imsomniabilis labors night and day, collecting information about the Order of Hermes, the Supernatural Realms, and the Beasts of Legend that haunt this land. Feel free to browse, but please don't disturb his important work.
