The '''Corruption of House Tytalus''' is a key event in the history of the Order, where many Tytalus magi (including fourth [[Primus|Prima]] of the House, [[Tasgillia]]), were found to be diabolists.<ref>[[ArM5]], p. 10</ref> Within [[House Tytalus]], it is known as the '''Betrayal'''.<ref>''[[Houses of Hermes: Societates]]'', "House Tytalus", p. 74</ref>  It was exposed by Tasgillia's ''filia'' [[Kalliste]] when she brought evidence to the Quaesitores in 961 AD, opening the way for her to succeed Tasgillia as the fifth Prima and creating considerable ill will towards her in the House to this day.

===Previous Editions===
In [[ArM4]] the Corruption is briefly described in page 232.  It is specified to have happened in the tenth century (and therefore after the [[Sundering]] of House Tremere) and noted to be a possible enabling factor of the [[Schism War]] of early eleventh century.
