'''Bernice of Thessalonica''' was the [[parens|mater]] of Flavius of Jerbiton as she named, known in the [[Order of Hermes]] as [[Jerbiton the Founder]].  Bernice did not attend the meeting of the [[Founder|Founders]] for a number of reasons, but sent Jerbiton in her place.  She did join the Order, but died before the [[First Tribunal]].

Bernice is introduced for the first time in [[Fifth Edition]] in pages 39-41 of [[Houses of Hermes: Societates]].  She was a rewrite of Jerbitons paren from prior editions.  Both [[Order of Hermes Book|Order of Hermes]] and [[Houses of Hermes Book|Houses of Hermes]] painted a picture of Jerbiton's paren as, what was in those editions, a typical [[magus]] who Jerbiton resented for taking him away from mundane society.  Jerbiton's resentment was so great that his paren's identity was completely unknow in those earlier editions.
