House Bonisagus is one of the twelve Houses in the Order of Hermes, preserving the True Lineage of the Founders of the Order. It is divided into two lineages, one pursuing the improvement and development of Bonusagus's Hermetic magic theory, while the other follows in Trianoma's footsteps and acts to strengthen and maintain the Order[1]. The domus magna of the House is Durenmar, in the Rhine Tribunal.

Bonisagus magi are required by the Code to share their knowledge with their sodales. They usually do so by sharing their work through the Great Library and circulating Folios.

Houses of Hermes: True Lineages provides a detailed description of the canonic House[2]. The Bonisagus chapter of that book was written by Matt Ryan.

Ranks

Followers of Bonisagus are arranged into ranks according to their House Acclaim, and two inner circles are appointed by the Primus[3].

  1. boukoloi ("cowherds")
  2. daduchos ("torch-bearers")
  3. cannophori ("reed-bearers")
  4. dendrophori ("tree-bearers")

Inner Circles

The inner circles of House Bonisagus are:

Colentes Arcanorum
a small committee in charge of disseminating the recent research of the House to the Order of Hermes by compiling the House's folios[4]
Tenentes Occultorum
a small group of magi charged with ensuring the Order's magical secrets (most importantly, Parma Magica) stay out of the hands of mundanes[5]
